Welcome to Schema School. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Schema School website and service available at schemaschools.in (the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Schema School is a structured, interactive SQL learning platform. It provides a guided curriculum of PostgreSQL lessons and graded exercises, an in-browser SQL editor and playground, animated SQL diagrams, an AI assistant (powered by Groq), a DBA tool for connecting to PostgreSQL and MySQL databases, and a streak-and-achievements progression system.
Certain features of the Service require a paid "Lifetime Access" purchase. Others — including browsing the landing page, reading the FAQ and legal pages — are available without an account.
2. Accounts
To access the curriculum and most features you must register with a valid email address, display name, and password. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials confidential.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us promptly at hello@schemaschools.in if you suspect unauthorized access.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to abuse, overload, or circumvent the AI assistant — including prompt-injection attacks, jailbreaks, or use that degrades the experience for others.
- Use the SQL sandbox or BYO database connection feature to access data you are not authorized to access, or to conduct any unlawful activity.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or the underlying infrastructure.
- Transmit malware, phishing content, or any other harmful payload.
- Reverse-engineer or interfere with the exercise grader to falsely claim completion or XP.
- Use the Service in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation, including privacy laws and export control regulations.
- Share account credentials or allow others to use your account to bypass the payment requirement.
4. Payment and Lifetime Access
Schema School offers a one-time "Lifetime Access" purchase that unlocks all current and future curriculum content. Payments are processed by Razorpay. By making a purchase you also agree to Razorpay's Terms of Service.
- Price: the price displayed at checkout is in Indian Rupees (INR) and is inclusive of applicable taxes where required by law. Prices may change over time; the price you pay is locked at the time of purchase.
- Taxes: you are responsible for any local taxes (including GST or VAT) that apply to your purchase in your jurisdiction beyond what is already included.
- Refunds: please see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- Digital product: Lifetime Access is a digital product. There is no physical delivery. Access is granted immediately upon payment confirmation.
- "Lifetime" defined: access to the Service for the operational lifetime of the Schema School service, or until your account is terminated for a breach of these Terms.
Free access, pricing changes, and grandfathering
Parts or all of the Service may be offered free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce, increase, change, or remove charges for any feature, and to change prices, on a forward-looking basis and with reasonable notice posted on the Service and/or sent to the email address on your account. We will never charge you for any period before such a change takes effect.
If we begin charging for content or features that were previously free, we may grandfather existing users at our discretion — meaning users who registered before a stated transition date keep free access to the content that was available to them as of that date. Where we grant grandfathered access we will say so in the notice of the change. Grandfathered access is a courtesy tied to your account: it is non-transferable, confers no refund (you paid nothing for it), and does not automatically include features introduced after the transition that are designated paid-only.
Because Lifetime Access is a one-time purchase and we do not store any card or payment mandate, we can never automatically charge an existing account. A charge only ever occurs when you actively complete a checkout for a purchase you have chosen to make.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of the SQL you write, the prompts you send to the AI assistant, and any database connections you configure. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to process this content solely to provide the Service to you — for example, executing your queries, grading your exercises, or forwarding the relevant context to Groq to generate an AI response.
We do not use your individual query submissions to train AI models.
6. Intellectual Property
The Schema School name, logo, brand identity, curriculum content, diagrams, and UI design are owned by Schema School and protected by copyright. The underlying source code is open-source (see the LICENSE file in the repository). These Terms govern your use of the hosted Service; your rights under the open-source license are separate and unaffected.
7. No Warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Schema School and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising under these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the six months preceding the claim. If you have paid nothing, our liability is zero to the extent permitted by law.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the "Danger Zone" in your Settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — will survive.
If your account is terminated for a breach, you are not entitled to a refund.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country provides otherwise.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you by updating the "last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by emailing the address on your account. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
